The Greatest Gift



We all love gifts—

and thus, parents are the greatest gift
that God has given us.

Love them
with whole hearts,
cherish them
with whole wealth.

Never trouble them
in any manner,
never hurt them
in any manner.

They are our well-wishers,
they are our support system.

They witness their own childhood in ours,
they witness their dreams come true
in the form of us.

Even when they scold us,
they cry with us.

They never want us to fall—
they always wish us
the wings to fly.

The day when I will shut myself up, the day when I will trespass you like a stranger, The day when I will be talking to everyone but not you— remember, I will use it too, and you will know it by my actions. I will be there for you, but only when you need me— not like earlier, when I used to cling to you. Ignorance is a thing which life teaches you.

Raised by Strength and Grace I am a proud daughter of my proud father, I am a loving daughter of my loving mother. When Mom scolds me,  I simply let it pass. But when my father scolds me, it feels as though my world has fallen apart. When my mom teaches me  to let things go, my father teaches me  to stand and fight back. Yet when it comes to my life, together they wish me success, long life, wings, prosperity, and, above all, the grace to be a good human being.
